Architectus studios celebrate architecture

17 November 2017

Architectus studios across Australia and New Zealand have recently taken part in a variety of exciting events, physically and online.

As part of the Festival of Architecture, Architectus Auckland and Christchurch hosted ‘Coffee with an Architect’ events last month. Visitors had the opportunity to drop in for a cup of coffee, have a chat and explore the studios with drawings and models on display.

Architectus Brisbane also opened their doors as part of the Brisbane Open House event – a free public festival that celebrates Brisbane’s architecture, offering behind-the-scenes access to buildings across the city. Over 200 people visited the studio throughout the day, with some of Architectus Brisbane’s most experienced architects on hand to field any questions from the public.

In Sydney, Architectus were an official partner of the Sydney Architecture Festival – hosted out of the Architectus-designed 1 Parramatta Square – a burgeoning hub for education and creativity. The 11th annual festival took place over four days and consisted of talks, tours, exhibitions, installations, guided tours and special events designed to engage, inform, inspire and entertain.

Finally, the Melbourne office participated in an ‘Instagram takeover’ with @_parlour – an initiative bringing together research, informed opinion and resources; generating debate and discussion; expanding the spaces for women in Australian architecture. As guest hosts, Melbourne shared profiles and the stories of some of their most successful female architects across one week in October.
