19 February 2018

We are delighted to announce the appointment of renowned interior architect Simone Oliver as Principal.

Based in our Sydney studio, Simone brings to Architectus 25 years of experience working primarily across the design of education, workplace, retail and hospitality environments for some of Australia’s foremost companies and institutions, including Westpac, Rio Tinto, Qantas and Group of Eight Universities.

A dynamic force in the design industry, Simone is tasked with co-leading Architectus’ overall strategy, business development and project delivery of workplace and interior architecture projects, with a focus on education.

Architectus Managing Director Ray Brown said: “Simone brings vast experience in strategy and design following her 23 years with Geyer and will strengthen our workplace and education expertise. Our collaborative and people focussed culture proved to be a perfect fit for Simone and we are delighted to have her join us.”

Simone said: “I look forward to strengthening Architectus’ positioning as a leading firm in both workplace and education through the creation of high quality human-centred environments.

“Workplace design is constantly evolving – the challenge is to design for a people oriented realm, ensuring collaboration, flexibility and wellness are prioritised.

In the education sector schools and universities are preparing students for jobs for a digital, globalised and largely automated world. Our role as learning space designers is to have a deep appreciation, research and evidence-based design response that support the institutions strategic objectives in providing a world class teaching and learning landscape.”

Recent workplace and education environments designed by Architectus include projects for Lipman Karas, SA Water, Flinders University, the University of Sydney, Macquarie University, University of Melbourne, and Victoria University.
