Prime Minister breaks ground for first Wynyard Quarter apartments

Commencement of Wynyard Central – the first apartment block to be built in Wynyard Quarter, Auckland – was marked at an official ground breaking ceremony last Thursday, 15th October, with New Zealand Prime Minister John Key being the first to turn soil. The occasion took place on site near Daldy Street, with an attendance of around 50 people, including speeches by the Prime Minister, Auckland Mayor Len Brown, and leaders of the local iwi.

Wynyard Central East 2 is a medium density mixed-use development comprising 113 townhouses and apartments with free-standing timber pavilions which overlook Daldy Park. The complex will form part of a new residential area on the Auckland waterfront that promises a new model for modern urban living in the City of Sails. The project is due to be completed late 2017.
