Turley Bridge opens at St Andrew’s College
A special ceremony to officially open the new Turley Bridge was held on Friday, 27 October 2017.
Named after benefactors, the Turley family, the Turley Bridge replaces an old narrow arch bridge and generously connects the new St Andrew’s College Chapel and its surrounding garden to Strowan House and the rest of the campus. Located in the north eastern corner of the campus, the Chapel is separated by St Alban’s Creek and stands alone among the bucolic trees – a ‘serene island’.
The opening of the Turley Bridge completes the Centennial Chapel project which started in 2012 when the College organised a competition to replace the irreparably damaged Memorial Chapel.
