6 Green Star Design rating for 155 Fanshawe Street

155 Fanshawe Street, the new commercial development under construction in Wynyard Quarter, has been awarded a 6 Green Star Design rating by the New Zealand Green Building Council. Auckland mayor Phil Goff and NZ Green Building Council CEO Andrew Eagles presented the certificate at an on-site ceremony last week.

Sited at the corner of Fanshawe and Daldy Streets, the building marks the southern gateway into Wynyard Quarter. Seven floors of flexible workplace are connected by a south facing atrium which looks out to Victoria Park; stairs and bridges within the atrium provide attractive inter-floor connections and offer work and break-out spaces with views to the park’s mature plane trees.

Green Star is a tool to support stakeholders in the property and construction sectors to design, construct and operate projects in a more sustainable, efficient and productive way. It provides tenants with a trusted mark of independent verification to support decision-making. The rating tools award points across nine categories: Energy, Water, Materials, Indoor Environment Quality (IEQ), Transport, Land Use & Ecology, Management, Emissions, and Innovation. This 6 Green Star rating for 155 Fanshawe Street represents world leadership.

The team is now targeting a 6 Green Star As-Built rating for the project which is due for completion in 2020.
