New artwork for Tūranga brings local stories to life

Migration stories and the currents that bring people to new countries feature in a large-scale artwork for Tūranga, Christchurch’s new Central Library.

Local Māori artists Morgan Mathews-Hale and Riki Manuel collaborated on an intricate design that has been sand-based by hand into bluestone tiles that make up one of the library’s outer walls.
