Rhys has recently joined our Auckland studio bringing over 25 years’ experience working on technically complex projects. Rhys provides specialist input to our health sector with 20 years’ expertise gained on healthcare projects in Australia, across the Middle East and most recently in Aotearoa. Within these projects he has worked with the Australasian (AHFG), NHS (HTM/HBN), HAAD/DHA Guidelines and FGI guidelines giving access to a wide range of problem solving approaches. He was also involved in the review of the AHFG from a HNZ perspective (on behalf of HNZ.
Rhys is experienced managing multiple teams and delivering healthcare facilities to the highest standards. Rhys has used his unique expertise in designing complex healthcare facilities for clients (both Government and Private). He has successfully led design teams through all project stages from client side project initiation, feasibility studies, design/documentation phases to completion on projects with extensive stakeholder engagement, requirements for enhanced seismic resilience, post-disaster operational continuity.
His skills include stakeholder engagement and design implementation, coordination of design development and documentation, consenting and tendering, cost management and safety in design. Rhys brings to any project a strong empathy with client and user needs, strong skills in facilitation, documentation and teamwork and a wide knowledge and ability on a variety of project types.
