Carsten has 25 years’ experience working in Berlin, London and New Zealand. He joined Architectus in 1999 and has been a Director since 2008. From 2013, Carsten has been leading the Architectus office in Christchurch.

Carsten has extensive experience in a comprehensive range of projects, particularly in the education, commercial and civic sectors. With a strong client focus, he is dedicated to achieving client goals and delivering projects that respond to functional imperatives within a strong design framework.

His expertise has translated into the successful completion of exemplary Architectus projects including the St Cuthbert’s College Performing Arts Centre and Centennial Centre for Wellbeing, the Campus Hub and Library at Victoria University of Wellington and the new Bus Interchange in Christchurch.

Carsten is an excellent communicator and is truly committed to a collaborative team approach. These qualities combined with his extensive expertise enable him to effectively lead large, complex, multi-stakeholder based projects to successful outcomes for a wide range of clients.

Carsten is a panellist on the Christchurch Urban Design Review Panel.
