Karl is Aviation Sector Leader at Architectus Australia, bringing 25 years of experience in the delivery of integrated and elegant design solutions on large, complex projects. A leading expert in aviation architecture, he has been instrumental in the design and delivery of airport terminal and security projects across the Asia-Pacific with a career portfolio that includes developments in China, Singapore, Indonesia, Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, and Adelaide. Karl has played a leading role during the design or delivery of several significant projects including Changi Airport Terminal 1 expansion and refurbishment, Soekarno-Hatta International Airport’s new Terminal 3 in Jakarta, and Melbourne Airport’s North Infill project.

Collaborative and communicative in his approach, Karl places a strong emphasis on client and stakeholder engagement. He has steered design teams towards creative solutions through all project stages including master planning, visioning, and design workshops, and concept generation, schematic and detailed design. His diverse career encompasses mixed-use, civic, hospitality, tourism, commercial, retail, master planning, Defence and transport projects, experience he has leveraged in the development of landside and business park concepts for several Australian airports.
