Fellow of the New Zealand Institute of Architects
A registered Architect with over 30 years professional experience Malcolm Bowes founded Architectus with Patrick Clifford and Michael Thomson in 1986.
Malcolm has been responsible for managing key client relationships, coordinating project resources on most of the large scale public projects undertaken by the Auckland studio and for administering the day-to-day operations of the practice as a whole. In this role he complements Patrick Clifford’s design leadership and Michael Thomson’s technical management.
Malcolm has extensive experience in the master planning and co-ordination of consultant teams for educational and civic projects. Recent projects include the award winning St Andrew’s College Centennial Chapel, which has attracted a great deal of public interest, framework plans for the Saint Kentigern School Trust Board and Auckland Grammar School and two significant projects for the Saint Kentigern School Shore Road Campus.
Malcolm has had significant professional experience in the building industry generally as a past member of the New Zealand Institute of Architects/Master Builders Joint Contracts Committee reviewing the NZIA Standard Conditions of Contract, the NZIA committee reviewing Agreements for Architect Services and as a Director of the New Zealand Architects’ Co-operative Society.
