Severin is a Principal in the Auckland studio. Originally from Austria, Severin graduated from the University of Innsbruck and subsequently completed postgraduate studies at The Bartlett School of Architecture in London.

His design research has been honoured by the Austrian Federal Chancellery with the Outstanding Artist Award in Architecture in 2000.

Severin developed his practical skills working with renowned and diverse practices in Europe: Skidmore Owings & Merrill and Future Systems in London, Feichtinger Architectes and RFR in Paris and Baumschlager–Eberle in Austria.

In 2005 Severin moved to New Zealand and joined Architectus, sharing their pursuit of design excellence.

Severin is a generalist which enables him to work with public and private clients on projects across a range of scales and types. His architectural approach is led by enquiry into site, context, brief and typology and informed by his local and international experience. His methodical approach and clear thought process render the complexities of the design process transparent, fostering a collaborative and inclusive relationship with clients, stakeholders and the design team.
