Architectus Melbourne Studio
The growth and success of Architectus in Melbourne drove the relocation of our team to larger premises at 385 Bourke Street in the heart of the CBD.
Our workplace interior design team drew inspiration for the fit out from our Sydney studio at the MLC Centre, translating this into a space that is distinctively Melbourne.
The design strips the building back to its raw structure. With inserts of black writable surfaces, timber clad walls and ceilings, warm textural carpets and soft translucent curtains, an environment more akin to a residential warehouse space than a commercial office is created. A key driver within the design was to create a series of spaces which embrace a domestic ambience through light, furniture and form.
All settings are designed for collaboration, whether it be for large group design workshops or secluded booths for concentrated work. The lighting is integral to the overall design with vastly contrasting levels of light throughout generating intimate and atmospheric spaces. Technology is accessible throughout the studio to ensure that business and client connections are maintained in our ever growing mobile era.
A large informal design review space is adjacent to the social hub, forming the heart of the office where client and staff events can be hosted with the latest technology. Within the hub, a combination of planting within bespoke joinery, cafe style furniture and the offer of barista-made coffee gives staff and clients a place to rest, work and collaborate.
