Wynyard Central achieves Homestar 7 and 8 ratings

Wynyard Central has set a new standard for sustainable living by achieving Homestar 7 and 8 ratings. All homes in the development have been awarded a Homestar Built certification with over 80% of the homes achieving 8-stars. The development is the first large-scale, multi-unit residential development in New Zealand to achieve such high ratings.

Homestar is a comprehensive, independent national rating tool, run by the New Zealand Green Building Council, that measures the health, warmth and efficiency of New Zealand houses. A home is rated on a scale from 6 to 10. To rate a home’s performance and environmental impact, Homestar awards points across seven categories: energy, health and comfort; water; waste; materials; site; home management; and an optional innovation category.
